About Me

I am a Highly Specialist Speech & Language Therapist (SLT) and Neurodevelopmental Assessor and Trainer. I specialise in working with autistic people and their families.

I work within a range of multidisciplinary teams with Clinical Psychologists, Paediatricians, Psychiatrists, and Occupational Therapists conducting diagnostic assessments, carrying out therapy, and providing training and post diagnostic support.

I have held lead roles, supervised others, and developed training programmes. I've worked with people targeting a range of areas with her area of specialism being diagnosis of autism and supporting autistic people and their families.

I'm experienced in assessing people with complex presentations, e.g. learning difficulties, high levels of anxiety, and situational mutism.

Experience

I have worked across the NHS and independent practice for almost 20 years,  across the lifespan from Early Years and Child Development Centres, to mainstream and special schools, specialist provisions, and colleges, and carrying out diagnostic assessments from aged 2-80 years old.

I have held lead roles, supervise other clinicians, develop training programmes and have helped shape services.

I have held various voluntary positions including being the current chair of the National Clinical Excellence Network for Speech and Language Therapists working in neurodivergent diagnostic assessment. I am also a clinical tutor and visiting lecturer at UCL. To further develop my post diagnostic work  I am currently completing a Post Graduate Diploma in Autism and Mental Health.

I am passionate about providing an exceptional level of care, using evidence-based practice, and continually developing my knowledge and clinical skills to offer families the highest standard of care. I have undertaken a significant number of post graduate courses and regularly attend study days and keep up to date with research. I believe it is imperative to work collaboratively to be effective, and to ensure that input is functional, impactful, and generalised across all areas of an individual's life.
